Look at this fantastic currency! The capivari is used in only one dusty, agricultural town 60 miles north of Rio de Janeiro. The money is an effort by the town to encourage its 23,000 residents to spend locally. I wonder if they know that in certain circles, it could be sold as fine art! If you are reading this blog, chances are good you’d at least stick one on your refrigerator!

With some of the shenanigans going on in the United States…I find something more redeeming and satisfying with having a giant hamster on currency as opposed to seeing various symbols of freedom on ours.
