Prince Dobalob Builds a Zeppelin | the coloring and activity book

Prince Dobalob finally built his zeppelin and was suddenly swept up into an unexpected semi-literary adventure. Considering the age of the intended readers, it was inevitable that a coloring book would follow.

These coloring pages are the illustrations yanked from Prince Dobalob Builds a Zeppelin. There are more than forty of them. It’s a humungous file, but I’m working on that.

This is Dobby’s convertible roadster.

If I wanted to charge big bucks for a fancy coloring book, I would redraw the pictures as simple line drawings. I could probably find time to do that in the next decade. Instead, I pulled out these sketchy drawings and I am calling it a free coloring and “activity” book. There are drawing prompts on each page, but I hope my readers will customize their activity book with their own additions.

The amphibious vehicle, Newt, goes for a test drive.

So, I hope you will agree that the best thing about this coloring and activity book is that it is free! There’s always a catch, I suppose, and this one is that you have to print it out yourself. If you are clever, you can open up the thumbnails and just print out your favorites. If you are even more clever than that, you can load the pdf onto a tablet, and use a drawing app (like Procreate) to draw and color digitally. (On my desktop, the pdf automatically comes with “paint.”)

The very hangry Prince Dobalob

Here is a link to Prince Dobalob’s Coloring & Activity Book. (The link is subtle- look for “z coloring book” at the top of the page) If I successfully reduce the file size, I will switch this one out and let you know. Of course, the zeppelin book is available online. Dobby’s own true story is also available.

As for the activities, I’m hoping everyone will thoroughly deface my magnificent illustrations. Go for it. It’s free and you can always print out another one. For you picky people who can’t keep your opinions to yourself, your assigned activity is to provide constructive criticism and encouragement. There’s a form below for that. Meanwhile, why not Buy me a coffee?
