Cacao groves on Maui

Ten years ago, Stacy’s Funny Farm incorporated as a non-profit organization!

To celebrate, we are holding a fundraiser. Because an Anonymous Donor offered to sweeten the pot with a gift of Maui KA’IA Estate chocolate, we were inspired to throw in some Super-Capy plushies and Dobby books. All donors will receive a full color Stacy’s Funny Farm thank you postcard to display on your refrigerator.

Chocolate connoisseurs will already know about Maui chocolate. About six years ago, they began to grow and process chocolate, the only chocolate grown in the USA. This young company has been able to outdo established chocolatiers such as Pierre Marcolini, Baratti and Milano, and even Wittamer. According to the Anonymous Donor’s refined estimation, this is among the best chocolate in the world and readily admits that this chocolate has brought them to tears. Our Anonymous Donor is not associated with Maui chocolate, they just want everyone to know about it. And, quite honestly, where else can you find domestically grown chocolate, off-grid (completely solar powered), and fair trade? Not only that, all profits go to local Hawaiian non-profits.

Our Anonymous donor is offering to buy at least $100 worth of chocolate for one of our $30 (minimum) donors. The chocolate products will be personally negotiated so that you get to create your own selection. The “at least $100” is because there are so many products to try. The bulk bags are usually around $50, but some go for $85. Our Anonymous Donor has no problem footing the bill for potentially $170 worth of chocolate. The chocolate will come to you directly from the chocolatier, in an insulated cool bag with gel packs. What about the other gifts? Our regular readers know all about Dobby books and Super-Capy plushies, but to snare a thank you gift during this fundraiser, here are the rules:
Donate $50 or more to become eligible for the Maui Chocolate gift AND receive a signed Dobby Book
Donate $30 or more to become eligible for the Maui Chocolate gift OR one of ten Super-Capy Plushies
Donate $10 (or any amount, really) to receive a Thank You Postcard.

We have created a special PayPal portal for this fundraiser, so we will know who donated what. We aren’t using a commercial fundraising site because we don’t want your personal information collected and tossed willy-nilly around the interwebs. Nevertheless, if you prefer Venmo or Zelle or you want to risk mailing cash, just let me know. I’ll figure something out. Donations coming in through any portal will be counted. The fundraiser runs throughout June 2024, so don’t wait until the last minute to contact me about alternative means of giving.
